Projects Made Simple was initially started to meet two of Tara’s most meaningful goals. She wanted to be a stay at home mom, and she wanted to help people do what they loved.  As with most great ideas, and with a slogan of “Keep it simple, a little luck, and together we can make your business thrive!” this idea has flourished and grown. Sticking with our roots of family first, most of the team is family. In the past twelve years, Projects Made Simple has now grown into a international company, serving clients all over the world.

Tara Backes, MBA Owner 

Tara combines business expertise with creativity to help small businesses thrive. After completing her MBA, she realized she wanted to be a hands-on mom while still doing meaningful work. Her background in the corporate world, theater, television, and events not only prepared her to run her own business but also gave her a unique, creative perspective on problem-solving.

With over 20 years of experience managing multiple projects, volunteering with various organizations, and building a strong professional network across Washington, Oregon, and California, Tara is passionate about helping entrepreneurs focus on what they love. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, as well as reading and playing video games.

James Backes  Technical Advisor

Having a life long love for all things electrical James has surrounded himself with gadgets and computers for as long as he can remember. He enjoys digging into the insides of his toys and often earned himself a workable insight into how those toys worked and how they broke when he wasn’t careful. This kind of hands on experience was vital for him to pickup computer support in the tech field. James has worked for Apple Inc., Intel, and Nike working in fields ranging from software and hardware troubleshooting and repair, to Sales and Customer Service, to Chef and Catering Director. While working for Apple Inc., James became an Apple Certified Macintosh Technician, a title he continues to hold today. He enjoys spending time with is wife and son, and has a passing fanaticism for all things Apple. He likes to spend time riding his bicycle and watching movies.

Ashley Belgard Media Manager & Social Media Strategist

With an AA degree in Criminal Justice- she loves nothing more then solving mysteries with clients, and learning how to use new programs. Projects Made Simple allows her to balance working from home, while staying involved in each of her very three active boys school programs and lives. She enjoy being outdoors, camping, and swimming all summer long.
