WordPress 5.0 And Divi

A new version of WordPress launched yesterday and it promises some exciting new features. The most news worthy is that they have switched the classic editor to use a new block-based editor. This version uses the Gutenberg editor which puts each piece of content into its own distinct block, allowing creators to decide where to place it and how it appears to viewers.

There are many types of blocks, including paragraphs, images, galleries, quotes, audio, lists, embeds, and many more. For those building client sites, it’s possible to create reusable blocks that lets clients add new content anytime while maintaining the same look and feel as previous pages or blocks.

WordPress confirms that the latest versions of Divi, Extra, Bloom, Monarch and the Divi Builder are compatible with WordPress 5.0.  However,  it is important that you update Divi to version 3.18+ before updating WordPress to version 5.0.
